MARCH 4, 2006
There are two new artists BLE would like to welcome to its little family: Bad Friend and e-banditos. Bad Friend, a lo-fi rock outfit from Nashville has a couple of tracks you can download on its web-site, as well as a number of upcoming performances you can plan on attending. e-banditos, a two-piece electronica outfit from the United States will have audio tracks available for download next month.

Bad Friend will be releasing its debut LP on March 14, a limited edition release on Compact Disc of a live performance entitled "LIVE! at the trash gulley." A sample track from this disc is available for download in the Download section of the BLE web-site; regardless, be sure to pre-order you copy of this disc by clicking here.

For the feature download of the month, BLE gives you a new track by Las Personas entitled "Video Games," a track that was recorded quietly among the hustle and bustle of Nashville's 8th Avenue earlier this year. Please enjoy this latest recording from Las Personas and be sure to visit the Events section to stay up-to-date on when Las Personas will be performing next.

This month's feature download is a track from Rosemary, produced by herself and the fabulous Patrick Himes of Dayton, Ohio. The track is entitled "Cha-Cha In Your Ear," and though officially labeled as "unreleased," be sure to look for it on an upcoming new release from Rosemary.

Speaking of Rosemary, Rosemary has finished recording three new tracks, as well as three additional tracks for a new project called "e-banditos." In the coming months, expect to welcome e-banditos to the BLE roster of artists (e-banditos consits of Rosemary and Brian Grainey of Flyaway Minion).

Nashville's historic The Sutler restaurant is closing its doors for good on December 23, 2005. To help celebrate this sad yet historic event, BLE artists Altered Statesman, Las Personas and Lone Official will perform the last show ever at The Sutler. Please come support these artists as they bid farewell to one of Nashville's oldest taverns (click here for more information on this event).

It has been announced that 2006 will see the release of another volume in the BLE Artist Compilation series. Certainly, all your favorite BLE artists will be featured, but also some new faces you might not yet be aware of. Please stay-tuned to this site for all the latest information.

Speaking of new faces, this month's feature download is a track taken from a new face, Las Personas. The song is "Night Light" and is scheduled for inclusion on the BLE 2006 Artist Compilation. Listen to it now in full spectrum stereo sound.

Dr. Dook has recently ordered a number of new stickers featuring the group's logo. These stickers are currently only available at Dr. Dook performances, though a few of the older stickers are still available for purchase on the group's web-site. In other news, Amp It Up! Limited Productions has filmed this last weekend an entire set of music for Tim Chad & Sherry and other local bands at the annual "Tony's Halloween Party" in Ashland City, Tennessee. In the coming weeks, expect a number of new videos taken from this fine evening, which feature a stellar performance by Tim Chad & Sherry, to say the least.

Amp It Up! Limited Productions has released for download a "hi-fi" video of American Trilogy's performance at the Five Spot, filmed earlier this year (in case you are not aware, American Trilogy features members of Fun'iki). Please enjoy this month's feature download in all its "hi-fi" glory.

Sadly, there will be now BLE Variety Show in September at Hair of the Dog in Nashville, Tennessee. A cancellation was forced, as matters between the club's owner and the club's booking agent could not be agreed upon in a suitable manner. Regardless, BLE intends to reschedule the Variety Show sometime in the very near future (presumably October or November) at a different venue.



AUGUST 1, 2004
Rosemary has available for download a new song entitled "Heavy Hand" (this is also the feature download of the month). This track was recorded and co-produced with Patrick Himes, now employed by Team Evil Records of Dayton, Ohio. This new song is taken from Rosemary's forthcoming release, still untitled at the moment.

Amp It Up! Limited Productions has released a number of new videos, all of which will be available for download later this month. However, one video in particular is ready for immediate download: "We Corn Together (Outtake)" - which also happens to be this month's feature download - is taken from the Tim Chad & Sherry DVD "We Corn Together." The version that is available for download is one which was not included on the final production DVD master. In fact, the entire "We Corn Together" DVD has been put on the shelf, though it is currently pending a forthcoming release. Regardless, please enjoy this alternate video from Amp It Up! Limited Productions, serving somewhat as a sample of what will eventually come.

Welcome to the newly redesigned home of Black Label Empire, or BLE for short, courtesy of the nice folks at Los Studios de Fairfax and Wood, Prior & Gordon Company. You'll notice many changes and many improvements, the least of which are the layout and design.

As BLE prepares for the holiday rush, expect in the coming weeks new downloads, not to mention pre-order links for the items listed at left. Electronic Press-Kits are also on the way, once BLE receives approval and submission from artist management.

A new video has been uploaded to the Download section of Lone Official's website, not to mention the Amp It Up! Limited Productions' web-site; the video was shot at Exit/In of Nashville, Tennesse by an unknown source (unknown source, if you're reading, please reveal yourself so that the webmaster can give you the credit you so deserve).

BLE has recently obtained two new recordings from Dr. Dook, which are taken from their forthcoming debut release. Expect a download or two of the new recordings shortly, along with a new Dr. Dook web-site featuring a new design, not to mention images and video.

In other news, Altered Statesman is in the midst of completing the artwork for its forthcoming new disc, to be released shortly, or within the year. The group will be performing locally in November, performing songs from the new release, among others (please click here to view tour dates).

BLE is still awaiting the new LP from Communist; the group, it seems, has beenlaying low, for whatever reason, and has yet to submit its completed master for release. Please stay-tuned for more information, if and when it becomes available.

Amp It Up! Limited Productions has added a few new videos to its site, one of which is the previously unreleased "Midtown Concerto (Sir March-A-Lot)" by Tim Chad & Sherry. This motion picture, however, was created by Shaven Goat Production Company, entirely shot, edited and produced by "all-around badass" Zack Wilson.

Andy Bodean and the Bottom Boys has returned safely from its Fall mini-tour; the tour was, according to reports, a success and there are many pictures documenting the trials and tribulations, some of which will be uploaded soon. BLE would like to remind you to attend the group's final leg of the tour with its showing at Springwater on Monday, September 15 with The Dynamite Brothers of North Carolina.

In other news, Tim Chad & Sherry will be performing Saturday, September 13 at Shirley Street Station of Nashville, Tennessee. The performance is to be a blast, not to mention a private little jab at Nashville New Music Conference.

Also, Lone Official will be performing Thursday, September 25 at The End of Nashville with Songs: Ohia; the showing is expected to be a good one, as Lone Official hasn't played Nashville in oh so very long.

BLE would like to thank those in attendance last Friday evening at Blue Sky Court that witnessed what was and is Good People and Tim Chad & Sherry. The evening had its moments, some of which were bad, but all was said and done when it was over.

In other news, Andy Bodean and the Bottom Boys will begin its Fall mini-tour on September 2 with a stop at Nashville's Springwater. From there, the boys will all get day jobs and start paying their rent again, but not before playing the scheduled dates (click here for more information).

Also, Amp It Up! In other news, there has been manufactured a new BLE Artist Compilation disc for 2003; this disc is to be used for promotional purposes only and has been sent to various radio stations across the country (specifically, it has been sent locally to WRVU 91.1 FM; hence, make your requests at 615-421-ROCK). Speaking of releases, BLE aims to have Communist's long-awaited "Paper Suns" released very shortly. In fact, BLE is not quite certain what the delay may be, though rest-assured it will be worth it. Once again, Snakehammer's "Unfinished Music" has again been put on hold, for whatever reason; hopefully, one day soon will see its release.

Last evening's performances at Shirley Street Station were a success for all parties involved. A very special "thank-you" is in order for one David Berman; it was he that was responsible for putting such a fine and profitable evening together.

Unfortunately, however, not all was perfect, as dear Dr. Dook was misled into believing they would be performing last evening. Yet, all was made better when drinks were made better and better.

Good People management have just released a motion picture for the band's latest song "Elephant," which is also featured as this month's feature download. Regardless, you may download the song and the video by visiting the Download section.

Moreover, BLE, in conjunction with Los Studios de Fairfax, has just launched a web-site for its sister company, Amp It Up! Limited Productions. Amp It Up! is responsible for the filming of all BLE performances and events, and is currently producing a full-length film entitled "What Bands Do." Speaking of films, Amp It Up! has recently completed a motion picture for Tim Chad & Sherry's "Come On Girl (C'mon Down), which you may view by clicking here. This motion picture is to be included on all future versions of the CD single.

Communist and Fun'iki returned from their brief stint down south unharmed, where they played to audiences in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Athens, Georgia. The performances were a much-needed success, all of which will be followed upon in the very near future.

Nuthanger itself displayed its new sound in Paducah, Kentucky this past month with Lojaque & the Flaming Nhadbits!; both sets were captured on film for the upcoming film "What Bands Do" by Sonny Akers, starring Kiki Forresstt, et al.
